Have you been bitten by the fat tire bike phenomenon but wish some of your favorite trails in Northern Indiana were groomed and ready to ride in the winter? If so, we have good news! NIMBA would like to make an effort to groom Rum Village, Bonneyville Mill, and possibly Potato Creek in the winter. In order to do this, we need your help to purchase some new equipment.
This campaign is a new way of raising funds for NIMBA; giving the community the opportunity to fund the equipment purchase directly. This fundraising campaign allows you to donate money towards the purchase of a used Rokon 2-wheel drive, low speed Trailbreaker motorcycle. Rokons have long been used by the US Forestry Service as a workhorse trail motorcycle. They are balloon tire, low impact and low speed, meaning they will not simply scrape the surface free of snow by throwing it backwards like a rear wheel drive bike will do. In addition to being a winter workhorse, the Rokon will be utilized by NIMBA during the summer months as well. It lends itself perfectly to hauling tools and equipment to the back corners of our trail systems quickly and efficiently with no impact on the trails.
Please consider donating what you can to the campaign. Our goal is $3000, which will go a long way in helping us purchase a Rokon. Rest assured, NIMBA board members are vested in this campaign as well; contributing alongside everyone who enjoys the trails. We want to ride groomed winter trails as badly as you do!
Let’s make a couple of NIMBA’s trails must-ride destinations for anyone looking for fun on two wheels in the snow! With your help we can make singletrack trail riding something everyone can enjoy in Northern Indiana throughout the entire year.
Click here to donate today. The sooner we reach our goal the sooner we can groom the trails so you can get outside and ride!
