October Update

Finale for the 203 NIMBA Series  10/6/13
The final race in the 2013 Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association race series is Sunday 10-6-13 at Potato Creek State Park. The single track at Potato Creek is always fast and fun. We add the sledding hill to the start of the lap for the cross country race.

We are running our “introduce a friend to racing” promotion for the race at Potato Creek. Register a friend that has not raced in the NIMBA series this year and you will save $10 on your day of race registration and your friend will save $5. Beginners only ride one lap at Potato Creek and this is a great way to introduce a friend to Mountain Bike racing.

For more information go to the race page.   If you are not racing we could use your help on race day; send us an email.

Tour de NIMBA  10-12-13
Registration is open for what will prove to be a very fun day for everyone involved.  There will be 100K, 50K, and Potato Creek fun routes.  October 12th.  Ride your mountain bike or ride your cross bike.

TDN is a ride, not a race; it can be ridden at any pace you’d like.  It includes 3 singletrack mountain bike trails and the roads in between.  We’ve created a route that includes scenic country roads and a few farm access trails only open for riding the day of the event.  Couple this with a lap of Potato Creek, Rum Village, and Bendix Woods along with food SAGS and an after party cookout at Potato Creek State Park; and we’ve got a fun day planned!

For more information go to the  Tour Page.  If you are not in Tour de NIMBA we could use your help on at the SAG stops; send us an email.

Annual Campout at Potato Creek  10-11/10-12
The annual camping weekend at Potato Creek is Friday and Saturday night October 11th and 12th.  This is a 2 for 1 deal for NIMBA members.  You pay for one night and get the second free.  In addition to a few night rides this is also the Tour de NIMBA weekend, so there will be a cookout on Saturday night.

For more information go to the Camping page

Bonneyville Mill Trail Build Days
We are starting the trail building at Bonneyville Mill for the fall starting on Saturday October 5.  We plan on finishing the trail at Bonneyville by spring so come out and give us a hand.  In addition to cutting the loop north of CR8, we plan on banking and armoring turns on the trail that we built this spring.  We will be scheduling build days this fall and winter until the ground freezes up.  In addition to 10-5, the dates in October are Sunday 10-13, Saturday 10-19 and Saturday 10-26.
